Our Mission
To assist frail, homebound seniors to maintain their independence by fundraising and providing financial support, community outreach and strategic assistance to Meals on Wheels programs in Alameda County that deliver nutritious meals and perform wellness checks.
Our history
Meals on Wheels of Alameda County was founded in 1987 (as Alameda County Meals-on-Wheels) and is a non-profit 501(c)(3), governed by a Board of Directors and administered by an Executive Director. Meals on Wheels of Alameda County serves as an umbrella organization to the five independent Meals on Wheels delivery programs throughout the county, which prepare and deliver more than 2,700 meals to homebound seniors every delivery day.
