How It Works

Meals on Wheels of Alameda County is pleased to partner with Car Donation Services to facilitate your vehicle donation  to support our programs. Donating your unneeded vehicle is EASY! You can either call our partner at 1-888-686-4483 or complete the donation form on their website. 

Once our partner has that information and your vehicle is accepted, they will mail your “Donor Packet,” which includes:

• The necessary DMV forms, along with detailed instructions (all you do is complete the “Seller” information and our partner will handle the rest).

• Your Donation receipt, which includes information on the tax deductibility of your donation. (Please consult your tax advisor to confirm how your vehicle donation impacts your tax situation.)

Car Donation Services will then arrange to have the tow company contact you to make arrangements to pick up your vehicle. This very simple process will help you get rid of the vehicle and help you make a gift that supports Meals on Wheels programs and the delivery of 2,500 meals to isolated seniors every day.
